New Rack Setup - I have achieved a long-time goal by converting
all my servers into rack-mount cases, and I have placed all the related
hardware into a professional rack. New pictures have been placed on
the computer setup page. |

New Server - I have added a fourth server to my setup: an HP
Visualize J6000 workstation. It has two PA-RISC PA-8600 552 MHz CPUs,
4GB ECC SDRAM, two Seagate Cheetah 18LP Ultra-2 Wide LVD SCSI drives,
and an HP/Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet adapter. A new setup page has
been created to reflect this upgrade. |

New RAID Controller - The AMI MegaRAID Elite 1600 (493)
controller I recently installed in my main server was causing
occasional blue screen hardware failures. I picked up and installed
an AMI MegaRAID Enterprise 1600 (471) Ultra-160 LVD SCSI PCI-X
w/128MB ECC SDRAM. The appropriate setup page has been updated to
reflect this upgrade. |

New Hard Drives - The Seagate external 1TB USB 2.0 drive I
bought for backups has proven to be too slow (my old 50/130GB AIT-2
tape drives were much faster). As a result, I bought and installed a
Hitachi Deskstar HD31000 IDK/7K 1TB SATA-II HDD w/32MB cache in my
file server. Also, I replaced the Fujitsu 40GB HDD in my laptop with
a WD Scorpio Blue WD1200BEVE 120GB ATA-6 HDD w/8MB cache. The
appropriate setup pages have been updated to reflect these
upgrades. |

New Video Card, Blu-Ray Player, and Power Supply - I bought a
Lite-On iHOS104 4x Blu-Ray ROM drive a few months ago. Unfortunately,
it did not work on my main workstation. So, I installed it into my
secondary workstation about a month ago. It worked, but the eVGA
Geforce 6600 Ultra PCIe was not considered powerful enough per
PowerDVD v8. So, I broke down and purchased another PNY GeForce
9800GTX+ PCIe video card. This card requires two 6-pin PCIe
connectors, so I installed another ePower Zumax ZU-550W power supply.
The appropriate setup page has been updated to reflect these
upgrades. |

RAID Change - Two of the Quantum Atlas 10K II 36GB Ultra-160
LVD SCSI drives I just put into the main server as a new RAID array
failed. Not wanting to take further chances, I swapped them out for
three Seagate ST173404LCV 73GB Ultra-160 LVD SCSI drives. The
appropriate setup page has been updated to reflect this change. |

Upgraded RAID and Controller - Having recently upgrading the
controller in my file server to the LSI Logic MegaRAID Elite 1650
(495), I pulled my AMI MegaRAID Elite 1600 (493) out of retirement and
installed it in my main server. In addition, I swapped out the four
Quantum Atlas 10K 18GB Ultra-160 LVD SCSI hard drives with four
Quantum Atlas 10K II 36GB Ultra-160 LVD SCSI drives. The appropriate
setup page has been updated to reflect these changes. |

New RAID Controller - I finally broke down and did some
shopping around for a new RAID controller. The AMI MegaRAID Express
200 (466) that was in my file server was just a bit too slow, and I
was not happy that the AMI MegaRAID 1600 (493) controller was not
recognizing the array (i.e. did not work with the motherboard). I
ended up getting an LSI Logic MegaRAID Elite 1650 (495) Ultra-320 LVD
SCSI RAID controller w/128MB ECC SDRAM. The appropriate setup page
has been updated to reflect this change. |

Power Supply Failure - The BFG BFGR550WGXPSU 550W power supply
that was in my main server developed an overvolt condition.
Thankfully, my UPS detected it and shut itself off, preventing further
damage. In place is a new Antec EA-650 Earthwatts 650W power supply.
The appropriate setup page has been updated to reflect this
change. |

New Gigabit Network Adapter - The integrated gigabit adapter
in my secondary workstation quit working. Rather than RMA the
motherboard and deal with having the system down for two weeks, I
decided to install a TP-Link TG-3468 PCIe gigabit Ethernet adapter.
The appropriate setup page has been updated to reflect this
change. |
